Analytics & Tracking Technologies

Google Tag Manager

This website uses Google Tag Manager (GTM), a tag management system that allows us to manage and deploy tracking scripts and pixels on our website. GTM itself does not collect personal data, but it may load third-party tags that do. The tags we currently deploy through GTM include Google Analytics and the Facebook Pixel described below.

Facebook Pixel

We use the Facebook Pixel, operated by Meta Platforms Inc., to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to deliver relevant advertisements to users on Facebook and Instagram. The Pixel may collect information about your activity on our website, including pages visited and products viewed, and associates this with your Facebook profile where applicable. You can manage your ad preferences through your Facebook account settings or opt out via the Digital Advertising Alliance at https://optout.aboutads.info/.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos, images, and articles from other websites. Embedded content behaves in the same way as if you had visited those websites directly, and those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, and embed additional third-party tracking.

Your Personal Information

Personal information means any information that can identify you. AUTO BLACKBOX may collect personal information in order to provide you with our products and services or to manage our relationship with you. This may include your name, contact details, date of birth, and financial details where required.

We will generally not collect sensitive information about you — such as your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, or health information — unless required to deliver a specific service and with your consent.

How We Store Your Personal Information

We may collect personal information via order forms, account registration, or directly from you when you contact us. If you access your account online, we collect information about your visit using cookies after your identity has been authenticated.

Who We Share Your Data With

Auto BlackBox will not sell your personal data to any third party.

  • If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
  • If you subscribe to our mailing list, your email address will be submitted to Mailchimp, our email marketing provider. You will be subject to Mailchimp’s privacy terms and policies.
  • Aggregated, anonymised data may be shared with advertising platforms including Meta (Facebook) for the purposes of measuring ad performance and audience targeting, as described in the Analytics & Tracking Technologies section above.

How Long We Retain Your Data

Registered user information is stored in your user profile for as long as your account exists. You may request to view, edit, or delete your personal information at any time, except where we are legally required to retain it for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Order data is retained as required by Australian tax and consumer law.

Your Rights

If you have an account on this site, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we erase any personal data we hold, subject to legal retention obligations.

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to access your personal information, request corrections, and make a complaint if you believe we have mishandled your data. Complaints may also be directed to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
